This December, thousands of world leaders will gather in Copenhagen to create a roadmap for combating climate change. Now you can be part of the action.

AED would like to bring a bit of COP-15 to the residents of Washington, DC on Sunday afternoon, December 13 with the world premiere of an important film “One Degree Matters.”

The European Environment Agency (EEA), as part of its support to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 15th Conference of the Parties (COP-15), will be hosting the world premiere of "One Degree Matters." While EEA is hosting the Copenhagen event in the evening, AED will host a similar event at the same time (in the afternoon EST) to include the following:

• Brunch featuring a sustainably produced menu
• The world premiere of the documentary film “One Degree Matters:”
  This film follows social and business leaders as they travel to Greenland and experience for themselves the dramatic effects of the melting of the ice cap and come to understand the planetary effects of climate change and the impacts these will have on society and the economy. The film brings to the screen the latest science from the Arctic and shows why a further rise in global temperature of one degree matters for the future of humankind.
• Also featuring a series of short films entitled “Environmental Atlas of Europe” - a series of inspirational stories of how people in different places are responding to climate change and in so doing, transforming their lives for a more sustainable future.

We know it is the holidays and we are also hoping to have a couple of “alternative gift” representatives to reflect environmental and climate change concerns.

So take a break from the shopping and come and be inspired - the films are great. Seating capacity is limited to 200 individuals. So please RSVP as soon as possible if you want to attend.
